Strictly Come Dancing announces 'unique show' amid 'huge treat' for BBC viewers in 2021

The BBC is planning to broadcast a "unique" Strictly Come Dancing show as part of a "huge treat" for audiences next year, reports claim.

There is little detail over the the content of a show but a special episode to mark the BBC's centenary year is expected.

A Strictly special will be one of the package of programmes aired to celebrate the BBC's 100th birthday, Birmingham Live reports.

Fans of some of the Beeb's classics are told to expect specials of Doctor Who, Top Gear, MasterChef, The Apprentice and Antiques Roadshow too.

Charlotte Moore, BBC Chief Content Officer, said: "Our centenary year will be a huge treat for audiences of all ages from massive sporting events, comedy, entertainment, drama, arts and music, to documentaries assessing all aspects of the BBC’s history.
