Strictly Come Dancing announce replacement as Motsi Mabuse self-isolates

Anton Du Beke could be taking a seat on the judging panel in this week's Strictly Come Dancing.

Motsi Mabuse has reportedly been forced to self-isolate at home following an 'urgent' trip to Germany leaving her unable to participate in the next episode.

Professional dancer Anton, who has starred on the show for a number of years, could be in line to replace here, according to the Mirror.

Anton was partnered with Jacqui Smith in this year's competition, who failed to make it past the first show.

It is understood Motsi will be unable to film for at lest two weeks following her trip.

A final decision on who will replace her is expected to be made today, The Sun reports, and she is still set to appear virtually.

Motsi took to Twitter to update fans on Thursday, writing: "Hi Guys - Earlier this week I needed to travel to Germany for an urgent reason.

"I will of course be following the UK Government guidelines and self-isolating for 14 days. I'll be watching from home and by the power of technology, should be in your living rooms.

"Watch out though, I'll be doing my own hair and make-up!"

A spokesman told Mirror online: "Motsi had to make an essential journey and will now be isolating for 14 days as per government guidelines.

"We look forward to welcoming her back to the Strictly studio in a few weeks."

It comes as boxer Nicola Adams was forced to quit the series after her dance partner Katya Jones tested positive for coronavirus.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One.
