Olympic gold medal winner Adam Peaty has revealed he is competing in Strictly Come Dancing for "all the normal guys" who want to improve their dancing.
The 26-year old and professional dance partner Katya Jones will be hoping to secure a passage into week three as the show goes to the public vote this weekend for the first time in the series.
Scores from last week’s show will be combined with the judges’ totals from this week ahead of the first elimination.
Ahead of performing a quickstep on Saturday (October 2), Peaty explained why he was keen to appear in the BBC hit show.
"Some of my mates don’t dance because they haven’t got the confidence or the charisma," he said.
"Everyone wants to dance but everyone has to learn.
"I want to show people that even if you’re a muscly guy or a big guy, you don’t have to be agile. That will come, I think."
Peaty added that he "never, ever thought" he would be able to achieve what he did last week on the dancefloor, when he was given a score of 30 (out of 40) by the judges, whilst training is proving difficult due to the pain its causing his feet.
Strictly Come Dancing will air at 6.45pm on Saturday on BBC One.
