Strictly Come Dancing 2023 line-up rumours as Gino D'Acampo and Jill Scott linked to new series

The Strictly Come Dancing rumour mill has been set into motion for another year, after judge Shirley Ballas teased the 'best line-up yet' for the BBC Show. And, among the stars linked with a stint in the BBC ballroom this year are Gino D'Acampo and Jill Scott.

It's still only been three months since the last series of Strictly came to an end, with wildlife expert Hamza Yassin living up to his billing as bookies' favourite to lift the Glitterball trophy, alongside professional partner Jowita Przystal; but speculation on who will follow the reigning champion onto the dancefloor has started already.

And it's in no small part to something Shirley said when she appeared as a guest on This Morning on Monday. Strictly's head judge sat down with presenters Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond to talk about her future on the BBC show, having been horrified by some of the abuse she'd received from viewers online.

After telling the ITV hosts how much she loved being on the Strictly panel, Shirley teased: "The lineup for sure… Just when you think it couldn’t get any better, it does! I’m just saying.” And Shirley's hint at just how good this year's Strictly line-up is, has sparked a whole host of rumours as to who might be on it.

Strictly Come Dancing 2023 line-up rumours

Gino D'Acampo

Gino's potential involvement in the new series of Strictly was raised by This Morning colleague Holly during Shirley's interview. The TV chef is being tipped to go into the ballroom, after announcing he had quit ITV show Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip.

Gino was strongly linked to Strictly last year, with an insider citing his "universal appeal" for him being in BBC bosses' sights, adding that he was someone. "more than capable of keeping audiences entertained".

Jill Scott

Jill Scott (ITV)

Like Gino, Jill is an I'm A Celebrity winner, with the England Lionesses star the reigning Queen of the Jungle, having triumphed in the final at the end of last year.

She was recently on screen as a Star Guest Presenter on Saturday Night Takeaway, as well as being a pundit on Channel 4 for their coverage of England's Euro qualifiers.

And Sunderland born footballer Joll is now being talked up as potential Strictly contestant for 2023. Bookies had her at 6/4 to do the show this year, after she was confirmed as the England XI captain for Soccer Aid.

Sophie Morgan

(ITV)

It has been widely reported that Loose Women panellist Sophie Morgan, who was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident when she was 18, will be the show's first ever wheelchair user contestant, with a source saying: "She is the ideal star to take on the role.

“Plus, she is very glamorous so will look amazing in the sequined costumes. She already has a huge fan base from Loose Women and is a huge advocate of using her platform to promote inclusivity."

It has been reported that Strictly bosses are very keen to have both the Busted star and Big Brother and The Voice UK presenter on the show at the same time. Talks were said to have take place last year, but neither were able to take part due to 'scheduling conflicts...

That could prove to be the sticking point this time round as well, with Busted just confirming their 20th anniversary tour for the autumn.

It Matt and Emma both do Strictly, they will be only the second couple to compete in the ballroom at the same time, following Gabby and Kenny Logan who both featured in series four.

Amy Nuttall

Former Emmerdale and Downtown Abbey star Amy is being linked to Strictly, following her split from fellow actor Andrew Buchan, with an insider saying doing the show will represent a "fresh start" for her.

Kai Fagan

Strictly is famous for 'snubbing' reality TV stars in the past, but having won the most recent series of Love Island, Kai is on odds of 14/1 to buck that trend and go into the ballroom.

His Love Island girlfriend Sanam Harrinanan isn't far behind him in the odds either, on 25/1 at the time of writing.
