Strictly Come Dancing 2023 line-up confirmed as one iconic face missing from show

The judging panel and professional dancers have been announced for this year's season of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, as fans pore over the exciting news.

The Daily Record reports that Shirley Ballas will indeed be returning to her role as head judge, despite rumours and speculation that she would be resigning due to online trolling.

Shirley will be joined once again by Craig Revel Horwood, Anton DuBeke and Motsi Mabuse.

Hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly will be back once again to spearhead the show, and a plethora of professional dancers are set to return, as confirmed by the BBC in a statement.

However, one person missing from the line-up is Rylan Clark, who decided to quit his job as host of It Takes Two - and his replacement is yet to be confirmed by the BBC.

Helen Skelton is allegedly in talks to present the Strictly companion show, It Takes Two, after Rylan stepped down last week.

The infamous X Factor star tweeted as he announced that the time had come for him to "pass on the baton to someone else and explore what else life has for me".

This news comes as BBC were reportedly in time-crunching talks with Strictly over increasing the pay, in line with inflation.

It was said the BBC show had descended into "chaos" behind the scenes ahead of today's announcement, due to the judges asking for an 11 per cent pay rise - which allegedly was rejected.

Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios said: “Excitement is already building for the 21st series of Strictly and we are so lucky to have the best team in the business both on and off camera.

"Our amazing presenters, incredible panel of judges and world class professional dancers are ready to bring the sparkle back to your screens this Autumn. We can’t wait!"

And while the judging panel and professional dancers are set in stone, the contestants won't be announced until just before the show begins, later on this year.

Further announcements, information and broadcast details regarding the 21st series of Strictly Come Dancing will be confirmed in due course.
