Strictly Come Dancing 2021 final cut short by BBC after AJ Odudu pulls out

The Strictly Come Dancing 2021 final will be shorter than expected on Saturday night after AJ Odudu pulled out of the competition.

It was confirmed on Friday that AJ and her professional partner Kai Widdrington would no longer be competing in the final after she sustained an injury at the beginning of the week.

Aj and Kai were set to be performing three dances along with finalists John Whaite and Rose Ayling-Ellis.

But instead it will just be Rose and her partner Giovanni Pernice, and John and his partner Johannes Radebe performing three dances - therefore leaving quite a bit of time to fill.

Saturday's grand final was set to air from 7pm until 9.05pm, giving fans over two hours of dancing fun.

However, that's now been cut short by 15 minutes and it will start at the later time of 7:10pm and finish at 9pm.

It's already been predicted that Rose and Giovanni will lose in tonight’s tense Strictly Come Dancing live final.

The EastEnders star is the bookies' favourite to win the Glitterball trophy, but new data has suggested that Great British Bake Off winner John and Johannes could secure the public vote.

Rose and Giovanni will be performing three dances in tonight’s show - a quickstep, their stunning couples’ choice routine, and a show dance.

While John and Johannes will be performing their rumba again, as well as their paso doble from movie week, and their eagerly-awaited show dance.

The first ever all-male couple were expected to get to the final, but have been outsiders with the bookies when it came to predicting who would lift the Glitterball trophy.

However, new data from Mediaworks has revealed that John and Johannes have won favour on social media, and they’re regularly discussed in a positive light.

The team tracks the social media sentiment scores of the finalists, and uses artificial intelligence technology to analyse tweets relating to the celebrities and their professional dance partners.

Each of the couples is given a score based on 1,000 tweets, and since the semi-final, John’s sentiment score has surged.

As he prepares to go into the final, John’s scored three points, and has gained more than 11,000 followers on social media, since the semi-final on 10 December.
