Strictly Come Dancing 2019 contestants get glammed up for the first time in new official pictures

With just four days to go until Strictly Come Dancing returns to our screens, the BBC has revealed all-new official pictures of this year’s contestants.

Saturday night will see the launch of the 17th series of the hit show and ahead of the episode, snaps of contestants including EastEnders actress Emma Barton and comedian Chris Ramsey have been released.

Barton looks suitably glam in a red dress (with plenty of sequins, of course) while her fellow soap star, Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley sports a pink and blue number.

The male contestants have embraced a floral theme with plenty of jazzy blazers and rhinestones but it seems James Cracknell has taken to being ‘Strictlyfied’ the quickest, as he’s already donning a mesh shirt.

RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage, who is already one of the most glamorous women on television, can be seen wearing a shimmery silver dress.

And Jamie Laing - who is already battling an injury - can also be seen smiling away in another picture.

Saturday night’s launch show will see the 15 celebrities matched up with their professional partners.

They will then have two weeks to brush up on their dance skills behind closed doors, before the first live shows.

It’s not just the celebs who will be new to the Strictly ballroom this year either as the judging panel and pro line-up will also feature fresh faces.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday, September 7 at 7.10pm.
