He lifted the Strictly Come Dancing glitterball trophy in 2019 with his slick dance skills but Kelvin Fletcher's wife Eliza wasn't so impressed with his work as a stand-in colourist during lockdown.
With salons still shut in lockdown, former Emmerdale actor Kelvin stepped in when Eliza needed help colouring over her roots in a comical video shared on his Instagram.
And the Oldham star may not be getting another booking with his wife.
"If you want you hair doing or you roots doing let me know. Available," the actor joked as he prepared to apply the dye.
"When Boris says so I'll come and do it."
And from the get-go she seemed worried.
As Kelvin brandished the bottle of colour Eliza told him he was doing it wrong.
"It's the worst job ever," she told him.
"It's quite therapeutic," said Kelvin, warming to his new role.
"You're just doing the top layer, section it away," Eliza told him.
Afterwards Kelvin reported back that his wife's review was 'not too bad actually.'
And he felt bold enough to dish out some advice.
"If anyone's out there with some roots let me know," he said into the camera.
"You've got to section it because what you don't want is just putting the dye on and you're missing bits.
"You've got to just pull through and section it off.
"All over the scalp. Be generous."
But as Eliza dried her hair her reaction turned to concern again as she thought her roots hadn't been covered enough.
"I've not missed any bits. There's no grey," Kelvin told her.
But the expression on his face said the opposite as he turned to the camera with a mock screaming face.
Kelvin, who played Andy Sugden in Emmerdale from 1996 to 2016, met Eliza at school and they've known each other since they were eight.
They have two children Milo and Marnie.
The pair lost contact when she went to university, and Kelvin was working on Emmerdale, but their future together appears to have been mapped out.
He was in a bar in Manchester when by remarkable chance he met Eliza again.
Kelvin married his long-time girlfriend in 2015, and they welcomed daughter Marnie in August 2016 and son Milo in December 2018.
Kelvin won Strictly with professional dance partner Oti Mabuse, who lifted the trophy again last year with comedian Bill Bailey.
