Baz Luhrmann’s much-loved 1992 film, Strictly Ballroom, takes to the stage as the musical with all the glitz, lycra, sequins and feathers (costumes by Catherine Martin) that it should.
Strictly Ballroom’s story began in 1984, when Luhrmann staged a 25-minute play at drama school, drawing from his childhood spent at ballet dancing competitions. The musical production, directed by Luhrmann, features Love is in the Air, and Time after Time, and a range of new songs by artists like Eddie Perfect and Sia.
