Strictly apologises after Max George lets slip the F-word live on TV

Strictly Come Dancing apologised to viewers after contestant Max George let slip the F-word during tonight's live show.

Fans of the BBC dance show clocked The Wanted singer cheering “f****** get in” as he triumphantly ended his American Smooth performance to It Had To Be You with Dianne Buswell.

Max, from Salford, had fans reaching for the remote to check that he really had sworn.

"At the very end of the dance when they were in the final position he dropped the f bomb because he was so happy how it went! But you could barely hear it," explained one fan on Twitter.

Host Claudia Winkleman apologised to viewers at home for the bad language.

As she ended her chat with ex marine JJ Chalmers and his pro dance partner Amy Dowden she said: "I also just want to quickly apologise for some language earlier that involved Max.

"I don't know the details, I don't know if you heard.

"If you did we're deeply sorry. Even if you didn't hear we're sorry."

"MAX THIS IS A FAMILY SHOW," shouted one viewer on Twitter.

But others were sympathetic.

"Give him a break," said one.

"It slipped out..." said another and another viewer said it was 'hardly noticeable.'

Another Strictly Come Dancing fan said it was clearly blurted out in the 'heat of the moment' and with 'adrenalin pumping.'

"It just shows how much it matters to him.  It's not the end of the world.  It's not even the end of the day," reasoned another.

"Awwwh bless him, honestly didn't pick up on it," another tweeted.

Max is following in the footsteps of his bandmate Jay McGuinness who lifted the Glitterball trophy in 2015.

Last Saturday Max and Dianne ruffled feathers when they transformed into Homer and Marge Simpson for their dance to The Simpsons theme song.

Mid-performance Dianne sat on a chair and flashed a pair of granny pants to the nation.

Although the performance received a generally positive response, some viewers were not impressed with spotting Marge's underwear, reported the Mirror.
