Strictly and I'm A Celeb locked in 'bidding war' for popular This Morning star

Strictly Come Dancing and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! are reportedly hoping to recruit This Morning star Josie Gibson for their shows.

Josie has become a popular option for reality television as well as dancing competitions.

Considering the presenter rose to fame on Big Brother, a stint on either show will be a walk in the park for her.

It has been reported that the star is in talks to sign up for one of the hit series.

An insider said she has "proven incredibly popular" with This Morning viewers thanks to her high energy and bubbly personality.

“Obviously, she already knows a lot of the executives at ITV and it makes sense for the channel to recruit in-house for their biggest, most-watched reality show of the year," the source claimed.

They added to The Sun : "But BBC bosses are desperate for her to appear on Strictly as she’s exactly the kind of warm, engaging person they love — one who will always be a hit with viewers."

The insider claimed I'm A Celeb will be better for her scheduling while Strictly will be better for her "profile".

Mirror have contacted Josie's reps, BBC, and ITV for comment.

Meanwhile, Josie recently confessed she thinks her TV career is a "fluke" and that she "wasn't good" at the start.

She said she still doesn't believe that she works on This Morning as she couldn't even read the autocue in the beginning.

The mum-of-one had to have laser eye surgery so she could read it better and has thanked those on the show who have given her a chance.

Speaking to OK!, Josie said there was one time she had a panic attack in the studio but the show gave her another chance.

She said: "My career is a complete fluke," she tells us. "I didn't think I was even going to go on Big Brother, and then when I got out, I thought that I'd quite like to do some presenting.

"I wasn’t very good at the start, because I couldn’t see the autocue, but then I had my eyes lasered, and This Morning gave me a chance.

" Fair play to the show – they even stuck with me after I had a panic attack in the studio because I was so nervous. But they really nurtured me and they’ve been brilliant to me."

She continued: "I cannot believe I work on This Morning. I actually cannot get over it. If someone had told me I’d present one of the biggest daytime TV shows I would have laughed in their face. I feel so grateful and honoured."
