A stretch of the A82 is to close for overnight resurfacing, with drivers urged to plan ahead to avoid being caught out by a lengthy diversion.
Work on the northbound carriageway between Gavinburn and the Dunglass roundabout will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am from Wednesday July 8 until Friday July 10.
Motorists making essential journeys during the closure are advised to leave plenty of extra time to travel, with a 50 minute diversion route in place.
Brendan O’Sullivan, Scotland TranServ’s area manager, said: “The A82 is an essential route connecting Glasgow and the Central Belt with Dumbarton, Loch Lomond and the North. As such it is used by emergency services, freight, retail and delivery traffic as part of their essential working.
“Many new working practices have been implemented across our workforce and those of our contractors and suppliers in the delivery of our future resurfacing programmes. Thorough risk assessments have been carried out as we take a lead in the delivery of trunk road maintenance.
“It is important that we continue resurfacing works in order to maintain road safety. Traffic volumes currently remain low, in line with government advice, and therefore any such impact on the travelling public will also remain low at this time.
