Stretch of Glasgow south side road closed following crash

A stretch of a south side road in Glasgow has been closed to all traffic following a crash.

The incident happened at around 12.30pm this afternoon on Peat Road.

Glasgow City Council confirmed the road remains closed southbound between Barrhead Road and Priesthill Road, with drivers advised to avoid the area.

A statement from the council's Traffic Control and Management team reads: "Due to an earlier road traffic collision, Peat Road is closed southbound between Barrhead Road (Pollok Roundabout) and Priesthill Road."

First Bus Glasgow also confirmed that the Number 3 service will not stop.

It is not currently known if anyone was injured in the incident.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
