Stretch of Glasgow road to remain closed as major works extended by five months

Major works to a north Glasgow road and footway as part of a city improvement project have been extended for another five months.

North Canal Bank Street carriageway and footway are currently undergoing works as part of the Glasgow City Region Deal, designed to unlock strategic development sites and improve the transport network across the Glasgow and Clyde Valley area.

The proposed road and public realm enhancements on North Canal Bank Street, between Craighall Road and Borron Street, include improvements to the canal edge and the creation of segregated cycle lanes and footways to the north.

Due to the re-construction of parts of the road and resurfacing, North Canal Bank Street has been closed since work began on March 16.

The work was due to be completed on July 3, however, Glasgow City Council has announced that the works will now be extended until December 18.
