Streets in Garston remained sealed off this morning, nearly 24 hours after shots were fired in the area.
Police rushed to the scene yesterday following reports shots had been fired around Chesterton Street, at about 1.45pm.
Evidence was found of a gun discharge and an investigation was launched.
Today part of York Street was also cordoned off.
The shooting is said to be the first in Garston for almost a year, since a reported discharge on Ivy Avenue when video footage showed a man casually strolling down the street with a gun in his hand.
Police were called to the cul-de-sac on May 19, last year, after loud bangs were heard and reports of a caravan on fire.

Yesterday, armed police were scrambled to Chesterton Street.
There are no reported injuries at this time.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Smith yesterday slammed the thugs behind the "reckless" shots fired.
He said: "We're initially looking to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, or saw anyone making off around this time.
"Your description, CCTV, dashcam or other information could help us find those responsible quickly.
"To fire a weapon in a residential area in the daytime is incredibly reckless.

"Thankfully on this occasion, it appears nobody was injured, but we're determined to put those involved before the courts.
"We've seen a big decrease in such incidents in the past 18 months and those communities affected by gun crime and other violence are often the key to this success, leading weapon seizures and the arrest and conviction of people who bring such lethal weapons onto the streets.
"Tell us what you know and we'll take action."
