Streets around Glasgow's Park Inn hotel reopen for first time since knife attack

Streets around Glasgow's Park Inn hotel have reopened for first time since the Friday's knife attack.

Various roads had been closed and a police cordon put in place in central Glasgow following the events - with the public asked to avoid the area over the weekend.

Police have now issued an update to confirm that, following the ongoing enquiries into last week's events, four city centre streets have now been reopened.

These are Hope Street, West Nile Street and Renfield Street.

West George Street, the street on which the attack took place, has also been reopened but is restricted to one lane, with no bus lane available.

The news comes after armed police rushed to a block of flats in Cathcart last night in an unrelated incident following reports of a man in possession of a firearm.

Police confirmed they attended the scene of the incident on Delvin Road at around 9.20pm and a 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
