Streetdog BMX Collection Challenge Lines: How To Complete Each Wallride Challenge (Plus the Skid & Shortcut Challenges)

Races against the clock provide some of the most fun challenges in Streetdog BMX. We already looked at how to complete each S-T-R-E-E-T challenge, but each level also includes a Wallride challenge in addition to two special one-off challenges, the Shortcut Challenge in the Campus level and the Skid Challenge in the Grindhaus stage.

Half the battle with these challenges is just figuring out the right path to take as the closest poster after collecting one may not be the best one to hit next and even when it is a directly pointing compass doesn’t always show where to go to actually reach that poster. With this guide, we have sorted out lines to take which give enough wiggle room for small errors that you can complete any of the challenges, even on the Expert difficulty level, with a little practice.

Tips For Completing Open-Path Collection Races In Streetdog BMX (Wallride Challenges, Skid Challenge & Shortcut Challenge)

While the exact items or tasks you’re trying to complete in open-path challenges in Streetdog BMX may vary, the core principles for taking them down efficiently remain the same. Here is what you need to do to become a pro at Wallrides and similar challenges:

  • Run The Path Before You Go: The windows on a lot of the timed challenges are not oppressively tight where you have to be pixel-perfect in your run, but there is still only a small amount of margin for error to play with. To decrease your chances of seeing a good run come apart is you need to make sure you learn the route like the back of your hand. For your first few runs, focus primarily on getting the route routine. You can even leave behind the letters if you miss one, as finishing in time is not the goal on these first runs.
  • Break Your Run Down Into Pieces: The timed challenges often include one or more sections where you need to be precise with your controls, particularly in Wallride challenges, where you need to stick the “landing” on the wall to get credit. When learning the path to take, also be sure to practice any sections that prove difficult, repeating until you’re confident. This is particularly important for late-run objectives as nothing is more dispiriting than finally being on a three-star pace only to utterly fail on the final hurdle.
  • Keep It Clean Early or Start Over: When facing a timed challenge, there is a small margin for error when chasing a three-star run. While you won’t see your whole run come undone by a minor hiccup like clipping a wall and losing momentum, if you have a bigger hit like missing an objective and having to double back, you’re better off reloading the challenge. Any significant setback will see you falling into two-star range, which means you’ll have to run it back anyhow to get the third, so save the time and start a new run immediately.

Three-Star Paths For Every Wallride Challenge, Plus The Skid & Shortcut Challenges

With those tips in mind, you’re ready to start tackling the collection challenges in Streetdog BMX, and with this guide, you can skip the most cumbersome part of riding around the challenge to identify the best line to take. These paths will provide you with a route that gets you under the three-star limit, and with a few seconds to spare, so you don’t need to be pixel-perfect on every frame. Here’s how to beat each challenge:

  • Campus Shortcut Challenge, Novice: This is a straight sprint to the finish with no directional guidance and is short with no huge jumps, so you can pedal hard as long as you have stamina. Hop down off the ramp, then turn left down the alley. Follow the perimeter of the level until you see a purple wall with yellow graffiti. Turn up the ramp on your right to ride to the section above the graffiti. The finish line is just around the corner of the building on your left.
  • Campus Wallride Challenge, Pro: Ride hard through the tunnel and into the orange bowl, then launch up to claim the first poster without breaking forward momentum. At the top of the incline ride past the narrow building with the big yellow graffiti on its right, launching off the ramp at the dead end to get poster two. Follow the perimeter of the level until you round a righthand corner where the third poster is waiting ahead. Collect the fourth poster around the next corner then travel down the grass hill. The final poster requires you to ride hard up a steep grass incline on your right when you reach the bottom.
  •  Overflow Wallride Challenge, Pro: This line calls for ignoring the obvious first poster, instead hanging a U-turn around the barrier on your left and collecting a poster behind you. Drop into the ravine and ride to the top, jumping out and into the flat section at the top on the right side to have the best angle for poster two. Allow your momentum off the wall to lead you forward, keeping the edge of the level on your right until you reach poster three near a factory entrance. Follow your path into the grass section and up the hill on your right for the next poster, then use the ramp to clear the dirt mound. Pedal hard and wallride to clear the big pipe then come off the ramp on the other side pointed directly at the last poster.
  • Grindhaus Skid Challenge, Pro: Ride straight through the first cone, then turn left at the bottom of the decline and jump up off the board heading up the stairs to land on the purple carpet. After knocking the second cone, continue straight off the carpet, jumping the small ledge and carrying on to ride up the incline ahead of you in the distance. Turn left at the top of the ramp to knock cone three, then ride down the stairs to hit the fourth cone at the bottom. Follow the water line then ride down to your left into the underground region for cone five, turning around to come back out and up an incline to the left of the stairs facing you as you do. The last cone is just at the top of the incline after a slight turn to your right.
  • Grindhaus Wallride Challenge, Expert: Turn around and ride up the incline behind you, hanging a U-turn right to ride down the grass and launch off to collect the first poster. Make sure to dismount the wall as the pipe below has a lip, then let momentum direct you to the second poster on the wall between the two sets of stairs. Continue until you need to ride up the board and jump the top of the stairs, turning right immediately to ride this poster atop the steep brown incline. Make a left turn up the long incline to the next level, turning left at the top. Stay wide as you approach the next poster to give a good angle to collect it. Stick to the edge of the map and follow it down to a ramp, which launches you for the final poster.
  • District Wallride Challenge, Expert: Turn right immediately and ride up the grass on the right side of the stairs. Collect the first poster on the building at the top of the hill then turn back toward where you came from when coming down the ramp to hit the launch to the elevated section by poster two. Ride the poster down to the elevated highway, then hop onto the beams to gather speed and collect the third poster. Continue down into the construction site and ride the poster on the green wall section, then exit the site following the arrow up a couple of inclines to the remaining poster.
  • The Vault Wallride Challenge, Expert: Turn around and ride up past the two narrow launch ramps, then hang a hard U-turn to bike up until you reach the first poster at the stage border. Turn right when landing and follow to the next wall of the level for the second poster, then again turn right on landing to ride up the boards on the stairs and across two big jumps. Collect the third poster on the elevated section, then drop down into the snowy quarterpipe to get speed and launch up to the raised platform and ride the poster at its end. Turn back and to the right when landing to see the wall with a red bar with arrows on it, and ride the pipe underneath it to hit the poster on this wall.
  • Compound Wallride Challenge, Pro: Ride off to the left to collect the first poster then follow the momentum off the ramp down to turn into the gap in the green section to get the second one. Carry on in the direction you were headed until you ride down the big drop, then make a hard left turn up the steep ramp for poster three. Follow the momentum off that across the bowl and up the ramp two levels. Make a couple of hard U-turns in a row to ride the poster on the green wall, then turn left around the corner and ride until you see the fifth poster atop a dirt ramp. Coming down that ramp will lead you naturally toward a concrete incline at the top of which you’ll see the final poster, which you hit by jumping off the elevated section you just rode up to.

Now that you know the route to take to complete all these challenges, all that’s left to do is get them done. Get on your bike and get riding!
