Street taped off by emergency services after man found collapsed

A man has been taken to hospital after he was discovered unconscious on a street in Trafford .

Police and ambulance crews were called to the junction of Urmston Lane and Manor Road in Stretford at around 12.30pm on Friday.

A man - believed to be in his 40s - was found collapsed by passers-by who phoned for an ambulance.

The road was taped off while emergency service crews attended the scene.

Police officers were also reportedly going door-to-door carrying out enquiries.

A spokesman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.20pm to reports that someone had been found collapsed on the floor.

"An ambulance and rapid response vehicle attended.

"A male patient in his 40s was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital."

GMP confirmed it was called to assist the ambulance service and that the man is thought to have fallen ill as the result of a medical condition.
