Street Sound Saturday is a real hit in Hamilton

Despite the rain shoppers got into the festival vibe in Hamilton Town Centre last Saturday.

Street Sound Saturday was back for a second year with musical acts playing throughout the afternoon.

The event organised by Hamilton Business Improvement District (BID) kicked off the entertainment with professional act Ernest who blasted out some great tunes.

Gareth Walker of Hamilton BID said: “We kicked off the show with professional act Ernest. Just before we had the Battle of the Bands, we invited last year’s winner Brittany Davies to give us a set.

“We then had six bands and solo performers over the afternoon which culminated with first prize going to local band Victoria’s Flight.

“ They were closely followed by runners up 2 Sevens and Mick & Phil. We are really grateful to the bands and to people who braved to weather to enjoy the show.”
