Street Food Circus' Forest Feastival cancelled for opening weekend due to technical issues

The bank holiday weekend launch of street-food pop-up Forest Feastival has been cancelled after it was plagued by technical issues.

The opening night on Friday, April 30, saw these issues cause delays and queues as we reported here.

Now organisers have taken the decision to cancel the event this weekend in order to straighten out the issues faced at the Merthyr Mawr food festival.

They said that they were 'devastated' that the system wasn't as robust as they were promised and that all who had a booking this weekend would be contacted.

They wrote on their social media accounts: "We are are totally gutted. We really, really tried to solve the technical issues for today.

"Unfortunately we were unable to bring the system online in the capacity we need to run the event efficiently. Ideally we didn’t want to open today unless the system was robust enough. We were promised it would be – it wasn’t. We’re sorry.

"This is not how we do things and are devastated that this small issue has ruined our event. If you have a booking for this weekend you will be contacted by email in due course.

"Rest assured we won’t be beaten, we will be back with a solution and are working on a new system that will allow us to deliver the event next weekend."

In an earlier post Street Food Circus had assured diners that they had been planning the event for three months and had brought in an outside company to ensure the wifi and contactless ordering systems were working effectively.
