The bustling cities of Bangkok and Hong Kong have many things in common. One of them is, of course, their reputation as havens for street food.
From today until Sunday, more than two-dozen famous street-food restaurants from the two metropolises are brought together during the Bangkok-Hong Kong Street Battle Food Festival at Mananakhon Square of King Power Mahanakhon Building, Narathiwat Ratchanakarin Road.
Held for the first time with support by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, this is a rare chance to indulge in sumptuous dishes from 18 street-food eateries from across the City of Angels, many of them recommended by the Michelin Guide, on the same premises.
They include Guay Tiew Kua Gai Suan Mali, Sanyod Chinese Restaurant, Mavarick Suki, Ten Suns, Pa Tong Go Savoey, Khao Kha Mu Trok Soong, Chueng Ung Lak Pork Satay, and Poj Plamuek Yang.

Seven street-food restaurants in Hong Kong that are among the favourites for Thai tourists will also be here to please the palates of local foodies. They include two Michelin Guide restaurants -- Mak Man Kee Noodles and Thai Chiu -- plus Waso Cafe, Fook Hing Congee, Hang Fook Tong, Azores, and Macau Yeng Kee Bakery.
There are also a khanom buang (Thai crispy pancake) shop and a rice and curry shop by Kasikorn Bank as well as live-music performances by famous acts from the Loveis label, including Mean, Alyn an SloJoe.
The food festival runs daily from noon-9pm. There is no admission fee.
