People rushed to help comfort her and see what else could be done.
Emma Curtin, who lives opposite where the incident happened, said: “We could hear screaming but thought it might be nothing at first.
“But it carried on and I looked out the window to see she was trapped.
“Her neighbour was out straight away and trying to comfort her, he didn’t want to leave her but went back inside to call the emergency services.
“At that point quite a few people had come out to try and help her as best we could.
“We really had no idea what to do it was all quite terrifying at first. People tried to lift the car.
“A DPD driver was around at the time and trying to help. He was thinking the clearest and asked if anybody had a jack to lift the car.
“We didn’t but straight away he sped off to a local garage and was back as soon as possible and came back with some mechanics to try and relieve the pressure on her.”

At this point police, ambulance, and the fire service had arrived and helped the woman free.
Residents also reported an air ambulance was called but was not needed to transfer her to hospital.
Their garden wall was also damaged during the incident.
“Everyone came together really well,” Emma added.
“It must have been horrible for her but the response of the street was great, everyone kind of took on a role and helped the best they could.
“What the delivery driver did was fantastic, it was really quick and clear thinking to get a jack to lift the car.”
A next door neighbour to the incident said he was woken by the screaming but could not see what it was at first.
He said: “The sun was coming right into my window I couldn’t see a thing, but by the time I’d managed to get down there were already a dozen people there helping.
“Everyone is very close on this street it’s good to see that everyone helped.
“The wall was completely destroyed too.”

Residents told the M.E.N that they believed the woman had dropped her keys and in picking them up the car rolled on her and trapped her leg.
Another said: “Me and my wife were both working but could hear the screaming. We didn’t go at first as we were on calls but as soon as we did there were lots of people helping and the emergency services were there very quickly.
“It must have been terrible for her but it’s great to see that everyone jumped to her aid.”
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "We were called at 10.45am to a report of a car colliding with a woman in her 40s on a driveway on Burford Drive, Manchester.
"The woman has been taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening leg injuries."
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) added: "Just after 10:30am today (Wednesday 15 December) two fire engines from Moss Side and Gorton fire stations were called to reports of an incident on Burford Drive in Manchester, involving a person who had become trapped beneath a vehicle.
