Street brawl spills out onto road as men fight in broad daylight

A 28-year-old man suffered facial injuries after a street brawl in Anfield.

The incident occurred on Belmont Road at around 8:15pm on Saturday, May 8.

The ECHO understands punches and kicks were thrown by a number of individuals in a fight which happened in broad daylight.

The disturbance spilled out onto the road, with approaching vehicles forced to slow down in order to prevent a collision.

A video has surfaced online showing the brawl which captures a number of individuals coming to blows.

The video shows five individuals involved in a confrontation which quickly escalated into an all out brawl.

A man dressed in all black can be seen swinging a bat in the direction of another man’s head.

The confrontation takes an even uglier turn when a lone man is targeted with lefts and rights by two men.

The fighting stopped when officers on patrol happened to be passing through the area.

One man was detained by an officer at the scene and placed in a police vehicle.

Police are appealing for information from any witnesses.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “Officers on patrol came across two males fighting in Belmont Road in Anfield at around 8.15pm on Saturday 8th May.

“A 28 year-old man suffered minor facial injuries.

"Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 21000295597.”
