The streets of Bangkok's Old Town just got a lot more colourful as the Pipit Bang Lamphu Street Art event launches today, lasting until the very end of this year.
A collaboration between the Pipit Banglamphu Museum, The Treasury Department of the Grand National Treasure Bureau, Social Giver, ATM Spray, 3C Project, and the Bang Lamphu Community, 10 up-and-coming artists were invited to showcase the lifestyle, wisdom and culture of seven Bang Lamphu communities through fun and colourful mural paintings.
Hoping to support community-based tourism and corporate social responsibility activities to revitalise the surrounding community, last week, artists such as Abi Original, Bang Bang, Jecks BKK, Nongpop and Sneakarette went around the area with volunteers to paint on community walls.
Today, there will be street art tours by way of tram every hour from 1pm to 5pm, starting at the Pipit Banglamphu Museum situated on Phra Sumen road. The street art tour will bring you to Wat Sangveswitsayaram Community, the Trok Khian Niwat -- Kai Chae Community, the Baan Pan Tom Community, and the Wat Sam Phraya Community just to name a few.
