A big bunch of bananas to Premier PR and Pathé for scooping five – count 'em – five front pages today with the arresting picture of Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher. All the other national papers also ran the pic inside, except for the FT. Monkey probably wasn't the only one having a scary 1980s flashback over breakfast today. The Daily Mash has its own inimitable take on the story of Streep's starring role in the Thatcher biopic: "The Oscar-winner prepared for her role by spending six months in the gym beating up minors and losing 80% of her soul in a punishing regime of dehumanisation."
