Stree 2 box-office collection Day 9: Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer BEATS Prabhas' 'Kalki 2898 AD' on second Friday

The horror-comedy, 'Stree 2' is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles, the film has become the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024, taking just 9 days to hit this milestone.

'Stree 2' raked in approximately Rs 16.50 crore in India on its second Friday, pushing its total collection to an estimated Rs 308.15 crore, reported sacnilk.com. The film recorded a 26.73% occupancy in Hindi cinemas, with the night shows drawing the highest footfalls at 46.68%.

The movie had an impressive start, earning around Rs 51.8 crore on its opening day and accumulating a staggering Rs 291.65 crore during its first week. Given its current momentum, 'Stree 2' is expected to comfortably cross the Rs 350 crore mark by the end of its second weekend, with Rs 400 crore likely within reach in the coming week.

According to reports, 'Stree 2' even managed to surpass Prabhas' 'Kalki 2898 AD' (Hindi) and has begun its march to the Rs 500 crore milestone.

The film beat out the collections of Kalki 2898 AD which earned 293.1 crore, followed by Fighter that earned Rs 212.79 crore, Shaitaan which earned Rs 148.21 crore and Crew's collection of Rs 81.95 crore

This film has now become Shraddha Kapoor's highest-grossing movie to date, surpassing her previous top films, including 'Chhichhore' (Rs 153.16 crore), 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar' (Rs 147.28 crore), 'Saaho' (Rs 145.67 crore), and 'Stree' (Rs 129.83 crore).

'Stree 2' is on track to challenge the lifetime collections of major blockbusters like Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' and Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2' in India, with the potential to rival Khan's latest hit, 'Jawan'.

The success of the film can be attributed to its unique blend of horror and comedy, rooted in Indian folklore, and its strategic release during a long weekend that included Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan.
