THE June full moon, also known as the Strawberry Moon, is set to rise over UK skies.
It is the first full moon of summer and the seventh of the year, and is expected to peak in the early hours of Tuesday (June 30).
It is also a micromoon, meaning it will appear smaller than usual.

What is a full moon?
A full moon is when the moon appears as a complete circle in the sky, the Royal Museums Greenwich explains.
It adds: "We see it as a circle because the whole side of the Moon facing the Earth is lit up by the Sun's rays.
"The Moon produces no visible light of its own, so we can only see the parts of the Moon that are lit up by other objects.
"A small amount of light comes from distant stars and the reflection of light from the Earth (known as 'Earthshine').
"However, the main source of light for the Moon is the Sun."
A full Moon happens roughly every 29.5 days, as this is the length of time it takes for the Moon to go through one whole lunar phase cycle.
This means that typically there is a full Moon once a month, but sometimes there are two.
Why is it called a Strawberry Moon?
Over time, different cultures have given their own names to full moons, the RMG website says.
The most commonly used names today mainly come from Native American culture.
The Strawberry Moon got its name due to the harvesting of strawberries in June in North America.
It has sometimes been called the Rose Moon in Europe, while other cultures named it the Hot Moon for the beginning of the summer heat.
Other moons that have appeared so far this year include the Flower Moon, Wolf Moon, and Pink Moon.
Still to come this year include the Hunter's Moon and the Sturgeon Moon.
When to see the June 2026 Strawberry Moon
The last full Moon, the Blue Moon, was at 9.45am on May 31.
It was a rare event, as it was the second full Moon in May, due to the lunar cycle occurring twice in the month.
The next full Moon, the June Strawberry Moon, will peak on Tuesday (June 30) at 12.57am in the UK.
However, timings can change slightly depending on where in the UK you are.
