Strathclyde Sirens go joint-top of Netball Superleague after third straight win

Strathclyde Sirens are celebrating after going joint-top of the Netball Superleague with a 35-30 victory over London Pulse.

After losing their opener against Manchester Thunder, Sirens have responded superbly to win there next three games on the bounce and now sit level on points with leaders Thunder and Team Bath.

It's the first time the club, who have a host of Lanarkshire players on their books, have won three straight games in the competition.

Cambuslang's Bethan Goodwin maintained her fine form, netting 14 points while team-mate Emma Barrie grabbed the rest of the team's points in the fantastic win.

East Kilbride star Nicola McCleery was player of the match in Wakefield and she told the Netball Superleague website: "We knew it was going to be tight game and that it was going to go quarter by quarter.

"This is the first time we’ve won three in a row so we’re absolutely delighted to be going home with the win today.

"Training is going really well at the moment and we’re setting the standard there which is now showing through our on court performances."
