A Strathaven man who sent a 15-year-old girl an image of a penis has been placed on the sex offenders register for 18 months.
Steven Smith, 26, of Thomson Street, was also ordered to pay the girl £500 compensation when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday.

He had denied sending the explicit image via Snapchat in February last year, but was found guilty after trial.
Smith was a former neighbour of the girl in Motherwell, the court heard.
Sheriff Daniel Kelly told Smith he was willing to impose an alternative to a prison sentence.
The sheriff also put him under supervison for 18 months and ordered him to do 150 hours of unpaid community work.
