Stratford car crash: Three hurt after vehicle hits people outside shopping centre

A woman and two men have been injured after a car mounted a pavement outside Stratford Shopping Centre in east London.

The car crashed into the three pedestrians and a traffic light on Great Eastern Road just before 9am.

A woman in her 30s sustained a head injury and two men - one in his 30s and another in his 50s - suffered minor injuries.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 8.49am on Saturday, December 14 to reports of a road traffic collision in Great Eastern Road.

"Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a car in collision with three pedestrians.

"The car stopped at the scene.

"A female, aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital where she was treated for a head injury.

"Two other males, one in his 30s and another in his 50s, received minor injuries.

"All injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A road closure was initially put in place at the scene and has since been taken down."

Transport for London tweeted earlier: "The A118 Great Eastern Road (E15) at the junction of Meridian Square - The traffic signals at this location have been damaged by a collision. Approach with care and caution."

The road was re-opened around three hours later.

No arrests have been made.
