Stranger threatens teenage girl in vile bus stop rant because 'she smiled at him'

A teenage girl was "left shaken" after she was confronted by a stranger at a bus stop who threatened to "drag her up the road" with his Audi.

The incident took place on Church Road in Haydock on Tuesday, July 13, when a man driving a black car reportedly got out of the vehicle and approached the 17-year-old who was waiting at a bus stop.

Merseyside Police said the man, who has been described as "white, aged in his 40s and of stocky build," accused the teen of "smiling at him" and later made threats towards her, before leaving in the car.

In a post uploaded to a local Facebook group, a woman claimed the man walked up to the teen and shouted aggressively, "who you snarling at? You little s***k! I'll drag you up this f****** road you dog!"

The force said the teen was "left shaken but not physically harmed" and that they are now appealing for information.

A social media post about the incident, which was shared in a community page, said: "At approximately 5.40pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, 13), [the 17-year-old] was walking from near The Rams Head to the bus stop outside Sids Mart/Pizza Perfect in Haydock.

"A man in a black Audi drove past staring constantly at her, he parked on the car park opposite Galloways/Dominoes and watched her walk past.

"He left the car park and drove in the direction of Ashton but must have parked up again further along the road because whilst she was at the bus stop he walked up to her and shouted aggressively 'Who you snarling at? You little s****! I'll drag you up this f****** road you dog!"

In a statement, Merseyside Police said: "We are appealing for information after a female was threatened in Haydock on Tuesday 13 July.

"It was reported that a man driving a black Audi car got out of the vehicle and approached the 17-year-old female as she waited at a bus stop on Church Road, accusing her of smiling at him.

"The man became confrontational and made threats to the female, before leaving in the car.

"The female was left shaken but not physically harmed.

"The man was described as white, aged in his 40s, of stocky build, with balding blonde hair."
