Stranger Things season 4: Millie Bobby Brown shares first look poster for Netflix series

Millie Bobby Brown has given Stranger Things fans a sneak peek look at the upcoming fourth series, and it looks promising.

It comes after Netflix announced that Stranger Things 4, Volume 1 will premiere on May 27, and Volume 2 will premiere on July 1.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the 17-year-old actress posted an official poster image of her character Eleven walking along an empty corridor.

The building she's in looks completely abandoned and at the end of the corridor appears to be the Upside Down.

Millie teased her 47.5 million Instagram followers by simply captioning the post: "Every story starts somewhere…"

The official Stranger Things Instagram account commented on it and wrote: "el blink twice if u need help."

They shared a further three images to their 15.2 million followers, one which showed Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) and Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) with the rest of the gang in a creepy-looking house.

Another shot shows Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Jim Hopper (David Harbour) walking together in the snow-covered grounds of a prison.

The photo was captioned: "001. Russia. Getting the band back together. Bring a jacket."

And the fourth and final image shows Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) with Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton) and Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) in California with newcomer Argyle (Eduardo Franco).

Written alongside the striking poster is: "004. California. Hold onto your butts, brochachos."

A teaser trailer released last year revealed that some of the fourth season would be set in California as Eleven is going to school there.

The clip, which Eleven narrates through a chirpy letter she is writing to her close pal Mike, shows the telekinetic teen struggling to fit in at school, and processing the gory end of Hopper using a scene of their cursed cottage made from a shoebox.

She is spat at and ignored, but she seems oblivious to it - all she can think of is seeing Mike, her first ever friend and love interest.

Series creators the Duffer Brothers have confirmed season 5 will be the show's last (Netflix)

A hectic montage reveals glimpses of key moments from the show, including a roller derby, explosions in the desert, and mysterious men in suits appearing to manhandle Eleven.

Joyce Byers - played by Winona Ryder - is also seen receiving a Russian doll in the post, which could hint that the shady Soviets who wanted to capture the demogorgon in the previous series have unfinished business with Eleven…

Stranger Things 4, Volume 1 premieres on May 27 on Netflix and Stranger Things 4, Volume 2 premieres on July 1.
