We're all waiting for "Stranger Things" season 5 to come to Netflix later this year, and we've just gotten a progress update courtesy of the series' creators, the Duffer Brothers. Over on Instagram, Ross Duffer recently revealed that they've officially locked the first two episodes of "Stranger Things" — and he's hyping up what's in store.
Alongside behind-the-scenes photos of title cards for "The Crawl" and "The Vanishing Of...", he teased that the series premiere was their "favorite, most eventful first episode" since the first chapter, and that episode features "the craziest cold open" they've ever done.
"Chapters One and Two: locked, mixed, scored, colored, DONE," Ross wrote in the captions.
“The Crawl” is our favorite, most eventful first episode since Season 1. “The Vanishing of…” (yeah yeah you think you know who blah blah) has by far the craziest cold open we’ve ever done. One of the sequences we’re most proud of this season."
One thing Ross wasn't allowed to share was how long these first episodes will be — "I would tell you runtimes, but I was told not to", he added — but given the brothers have previously billed the final chapter as being "like eight blockbuster movies," , we could well be streaming some feature-length future installments later in the year.
Given how exciting that recently released "Stranger Things" season 5 trailer was and that David Harbour has called the finale "the best episode they've ever done", I'm feeling more and more confident that this is going to be worth the wait. Here's hoping the show can deliver on all that hype.
