Stranger Things 4 trailer teases most dramatic episodes yet for Eleven and Mike

The trailer for the fourth series of Stranger Things has been released - and it looks explosive.

The series, which will be released on Netflix at some point in 2022, shows former human lab rat Eleven living in California with school pal Will Byers and his family, who took her in after the death of her policeman guardian Jim Hopper.

The trailer, which Eleven narrates through a chirpy letter she is writing to her close pal Mike Wheeler, shows the telekinetic teen struggling to fit in at school, and processing the gory end of Hopper using a scene of their cursed cottage made from a shoebox.

She is spat at and ignored, but she seems oblivious to it - all she can think of is seeing Mike, her first ever friend and love interest.

Eleven says: “I think I have finally adapted. I even like school now. I have made lots of friends.

“Even so I am ready for Spring Break. Mostly because I get to see you. We will have the best Spring Break ever.”

A hectic montage reveals glimpses of key moments from the show, including a roller derby, explosions in the desert, and mysterious men in suits appearing to manhandle Eleven.

Joyce Byers - played by Winona Ryder - is also seen receiving a Russian doll in the post, which could hint that the shady Soviets who wanted to capture the demogorgon in the previous series have unfinished business with Eleven…

Fans might also hope it is connected to the return of Hopper - played by Lily Allen's husband David Harbour - after the final scene of the third series showed that they had taken a captive, known only as “the American”.

This is the second trailer for the fourth series, following on from one released in August.
