Stranger pays for mum's Costa coffee in random act of kindness

A stranger reportedly paid for a mum's Costa Coffee order in a seemingly random act of kindness.

Posting on a community page on social media, Liane Caddick said it was the "loveliest gesture".

Liane said she and her son were in the queue in the Maghull branch of the coffee shop and was ready to pay for her order.

Before she knew it, a customer in front of her paid for the whole order.

Liane said the kind woman apparently pays for a stranger's order once a week.

Writing on Facebook, Liane said: "Received the loveliest gesture/act of kindness off a lovely lady in Costa this morning.

"[I] takes my son over to till to put order in and pay, and the lady in front paid for my order.

"I was oblivious to this. Once I realised, I could not thank her enough.

"Her name was Karen and she said she does this once a week for someone.
