Strange and smelly goop spotted oozing out of Edinburgh drain in Inverleith Park

A strange, grotesque-looking liquid was spotted oozing out of an Edinburgh drain this week.

The grate at Inverleith Park was pictured as a brown and white substance bubbled out of the clogged drain and spread along the side of the pathway.

The liquid also appeared to be evaporating in some places, leaving a strange white residue on the grass and adjoining foot path.

Heavy rains and damper weather this week may have caused the blockage and unpleasant overspill, as the capital left behind its mini heatwave from the beginning of this month.

Other drains in and around the park have been reported as also being blocked which has flooded over paths for walkers in recent days.

Edinburgh Live contacted the City of Edinburgh Council for comment.
