'Story of the season' - Samba Sow can't hide Nottingham Forest frustration after Derby County draw

Nottingham Forest midfielder Samba Sow says 10-man Derby County's dramatic late equaliser was tough to take and says it was the "story of the season".

Sabri Lamouchi's side looked on course to take all three points against their arch rivals having taken the lead through Joe Lolley's strike in the first half.

The Reds were in control and their chances of all three points increased when Martyn Waghorn was dismissed for a foul on Ryan Yates late on.

But Chris Martin pounced to score a 97th-minute equaliser to snatch a draw for the Rams.

Speaking after the game, Sow said: “It is hard to take. I am happy to be back and to play because it has been a long time, but to take this goal at the end of the game is so difficult.

“But that is the story of the season, it has happened so many times. We have to learn from it and to keep working. We played very well today and deserved the three points, but we only go back with one point.

“We have to keep going and keep working because we have five more games, we are still there and we have to continue in the same way.

“We did a good job today all together, so it is difficult to take this goal. But that is life, we have to forget quickly because we have another game on Tuesday, a tough one as well against Fulham.

“We have to keep our focus and work hard. We have a good team, with good players and we have to give everything. Everyone is disappointed today because we deserved three points.”
