Stormzy's Union flag stab-proof vest designed by Banksy for headline Glastonbury set

Stormzy's explosive grime set blew people away as he became the first black solo British headliner at Glastonbury festival.

But what many fans didn't realised as they enjoyed watching the rapper conquer Friday night's top slot, was the star was wearing a customised outfit made by none other than Bristol's elusive graffiti artist.

In what could be a first for Banksy, the artist turned his talents towards the fashion world when he designed the singer's distinctive vest - now seen by millions of viewers across the world.

This afternoon Banksy wrote on his official Instagram page: "I made a customised stab-proof vest and thought - who could possibly wear this?

"Stormzy at Glastonbury

To this Stormzy replied: "You’ll never know what this means to me. I feel like I am dreaming this is all a dream. Honoured, grateful, thank you, I don’t have any words for this. Tears of joy."

And the revelation caused quite a stir among the street artist's 257,917 followers.

One wrote: "Literally thoughts you were revealing you are stormzy."

While another said: "Top 10 anime crossovers."

Eagled-eyed fans also spotted Bristol’s own Raleigh Ritchie singing with Stormzy at the beginning of last night's phenomenal set.
