Stormzy 'peaks' after being awarded a Greggs 'Black Card'

Grime star Stormzy has taken to social media to reveal he is the first person in the UK to be given a Greggs Concierge Black Card.

The Mobo and Brit Award winner could barely hide his amazement at the gesture from the high street bakery, which came with a video congratulating him on his many achievements over the past 18 months.

The Chronicle Live reported how the 26-year-old star responded via social media, tweeting: "Are you mad the first Greggs black card @GreggsOfficial.

"I have peaked this is brilliant."

Black Cards first became known after the were introduced by popular chicken chain Nando's, who issued the cards allowing celebrities to order free peri peri chicken at any Nando's restaurant in the UK.

However, the Greggs' card, which is much more elusive than its chicken cousin, offers a "concierge" service, delivering the Shut Up star's favourite items to his door, no matter where he is in the UK.

Stormzy will peform at Newcastle Arena in 2020 (PA)

"It's time to live life like it's golden," reads a video message to the star.

It adds: "So put up your big size 12s, drop us a line, and when you roll in, we'll roll out."

Stormzy was also sent slippers - so he can "put his feet up".

According to Greggs, Stormzy's most ordered items include the vegan sausage roll, yum yums and sausage, bean and cheese melt.

How to get a Greggs Concierge Black Card

Want your own Black Card? Well, tough, because the service is "invite-only", reserved for Greggs' biggest fans.

A Greggs spokesman said: “Our Concierge card is strictly by invite only to some of our biggest fans. That’s all we can say.”
