Stormzy on Come Dine With Me? Vossi Bop rapper says he'd love to star on show

Stormzy has revealed that he would “love” to go on Come Dine With Me because he is a “proper fan” of the show.

The rapper, who dropped new track Vossi Bop, on Friday morning, dismissed the idea of venturing into reality TV with Strictly or I’m A Celebrity but did confess he would relish the opportunity to go on Channel 4’s flagship cooking show which sees strangers take turns to host dinner parties and secretly score each other.

“I love Come Dine with Me. Definitely,” he told Capital Breakfast.

“When I watch it – do you know what? I can’t lie. I’m a proper fan, like, I love my food. So I’ll watch Come Dine with Me and just proper think ‘ah, I’d just love to, like, be there eating the food’.”

But the London-born artist, who has a plan for his dinner party, admitted he “never thinks about the actual cooking” and is a “rubbish chef”.

He said: “I wouldn’t mind losing. I’d just do the three other meals and then when people come to me it’s like ‘guys, listen, I can’t lie, I’m just here for the meals you lot did’. It’s just order some flippin’ Deliveroo or something.”

Vossi Bop: Stormzy dropped a new track on Friday morning ()

Stormzy, real name Michael Omari, dropped his latest track on Friday morning, marking his first release since debut album Gang Signs & Prayer in 2017.

Directed by Henry Scholfield, the video sees the grime star performing in front of iconic London locations including Westminster Bridge and the Bank of England.

During one frame, Stormzy is joined by Luther actor Idris Elba with both stars dressed all in black and wearing sunglasses.

His lyrics address mounting speculation that Elba will take on the role of James Bond once Daniel Craig hangs up in 007 suit after the next film.
