Stormzy announces new album Heavy is the Head following historic Glastonbury set

Stormzy has announced he will release his second album, Heavy is the Head, next month.

The long-awaited 16-track record, which will arrive on 13 December, sees the grime artist collaborating with Headie One, Ed Sheeran, H.E.R and others.

It will also include his recently released singles “Sounds of the Skeng”, “Crown”, “Wiley Flow” and “Vossi Bop”.

The title of the album is a lyric that features on “Crown” and in the album artwork Stormzy can be seen looking down at the Banksy-designed bulletproof vest he wore during his Glastonbury 2019 headline set.

Heavy is the Head follows 2017’s Gang Signs and Prayer, which included the singles “Big For Your Boots” and “Shut Up”.

Stormzy announced the release date for his new album on Twitter.

Alongside Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Raphael Saadiq and Sting, Stormzy will perform at the first-ever Global Citizen Prize award ceremony on the day of the album's release at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
