Stormzy Dublin: Baldoyle school debuts 'Superheroes' music video with special message from UK hip-hop star

A Dublin school was chosen as one of only a handful in Ireland and the UK to debut the latest video from hip-hop artist Stormzy.

Students from Pobalscoil Neasain in Baldoyle were treated to the new animated video from the Croydon music mogul, who also shared a speech with them as part of the debut.

They joined students in London, Manchester and Glasgow who got the the first peek at the colourful video which has a strong message.

In the video message to students, Stormzy said: "I wanted to show it to you guys first [because] being students at school, I think it’s important that you guys understand how powerful you are...”

He continued: “Despite the colour of your skin, despite where you come from, despite your religion, despite whatever it is that you feel may be holding you back; you are a Superhero.

"So, I wanted to make this video to inspire you guys, to make you realise that the sky is the limit."

UK artist Stormzy has a strong connection to Dublin, with a mural dedicated to him even appearing in the city centre in the past.

The mural by Subset, from his music video "Shut Up, appeared in Smithfield back in 2017 but was ordered to be removed by Dublin City Council as planning permission was not granted.
