Stormzy appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning to discuss his second album and other hot topics - while sporting a pair of luxurious slippers.
Last night the hugely popular rapper caused pandemonium in Bristol when he signed copies of the new record, named Heavy Is The Head, and met hundreds of adoring fans at HMV Broadmead.
Despite a busy evening the grime icon, whose real name is Michael Owuo Jr, was as animated as ever on the BBC show this morning, but much of the discussion online centred on his comfortable slip-on shoes.
Some might have expected the man of the moment to be wearing a pair of flash trainers, but it would seem the 26-year-old is still fully in Christmas mode.
Fans have shared their amusement at the choice of footwear on Twitter, with one user writing: "Could I love Stormzy any more!? He’s just been on Breakast tv accidentally wearing his slippers!!!"
Another follower wrote: "I love @stormzy. I love him more now that he’s admitted on morning national TV that he’s accidentally turned up in his slippers."
But those who attended the signing at HMV in Bristol city centre yesterday (January 6) will know the superstar also wore the pair of now-famous slippers - which are UGG Tasman Slippers - to that event. He has worn them to several events over the past few months, including his closing performance at The O2, London on December 7.
'No I actually forgot, like I'm an idiot'
Host Dan Walker was keen to compliment the rapper on the slippers this morning, which in turn revealed the reason behind his decision to wear them.
The presenter kicked off the interview by saying: "Can I say first up, those slippers are magnificent."
Stormzy replied: "No I actually forgot, like I'm an idiot, I forgot."
Somewhat taken aback, Mr Walker quizzed: "What, forgot your shoes?"
To which Stormzy answered: "Yeah, which sounds mad because we've been doing signings, I did a signing in Bristol, I've got a signing tonight but I always, I just stay in my slippers and then I came, got in the car and was like ah... I haven't got my trainers, sorry."
So it would appear Stormzy is wearing slippers due to forgetfulness rather than in a bid to start a new fashion trend - although we have a feeling the popularity of the loungewear will rise as a result...
