Stormy end to the week forecast for Canberra

Enjoy the mild mid-week weather while you can, Canberra.

While the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a slight chance of rain and a top of 25 degrees on Wednesday, storms are forecast for later in the week.

From Thursday to Saturday, Canberrans can expect rainy conditions and thunderstorms.

The BOM has predicted a warm 28 degrees on Thursday, with a chance of rain and a potential thunderstorm in the afternoon.

On Friday, it's predicted to reach a top of 26 degrees, with a very high chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, and 10-25mm of rain.

In other news:

The weather is expected to become more severe on Saturday, with a very high chance of showers and thunderstorms during the morning and afternoon, and between 15-25mm of rain.

Conditions are expected to ease from Sunday. The BOM is predicting a slight chance of rain and a top of 27 degrees.
