Storm warning for West Lothian with heavy rain and strong winds to cause travel chaos

West Lothian is set to be battered by stormy conditions on Tuesday morning with a Met Office weather warning in-place.

A yellow warning has been issued for much of Tuesday with heavy rain and gusty winds expected to cause travel chaos throughout the region. The worst of the weather is expected between 6am and 3pm.

Edinburgh is set to get off lightly with the harshest conditions likely to hit areas west of Linlithgow.

Experts at the Met Office say that bus and train services are expected to be affected while adding: "Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer." This comes after significant disruption was reported throughout the area on Sunday caused by flooding and fallen trees.

Large parts of Scotland were battered by heavy rain and wind over the weekend, and while things are forecast to be slightly better in Edinburgh on Monday, it seems it would be wise not to expect it to last.
