Weather warnings for Storm Malik cover all of Scotland, with severe winds of between 50mph to 75mph.

Gale force winds are already causing trouble for rail passengers as ScotRail announced a raft of cancellations and delays.

Amid the carnage, Network Rail announced at around 6am on Saturday morning that they were dealing with a fallen tree and fire in the Larbert area.

ScotRail updated passengers that due to the damage to overhead electric wires, all lines are closed, with train services running through the station cancelled or revised.

Another fallen tree on the railway brought services to a halt between Inverness and Aviemore, with trains cancelled, delayed or revised, ScotRail told passengers at around 6:30am this morning.

Buses have been put in place at Falkirk Grahamston, Perth, Stirling, Queen Street, Edinburgh and a minibus shuttle is available at Falkirk High - Falkirk Grahamston.

Traffic Scotland has been alerting drivers to trees blocking busy routes, with the A702 near Biggar currently closed.

The M74 is also closed in both directions between junction 10-11 due to an overturned lorry.

The Tay Road Bridge has also been closed to all traffic due to high winds, while The Queensferry Crossing is closed to high sided vehicles.
