Storm Keating reveals the family's one saving grace during pandemic

Storm Keating revealed Ronan’s radio gig has been a saving grace for the couple financially while his music tours are on hold during the pandemic.

The couple have been busy lately as the singer released his new album Twenty Twenty and worked on Magic FM.

The new mum, 38, who gave birth to her second child Coco with the Dubliner during lockdown, said Ronan is a “worrier” and feels lucky to have had the radio work as a constant stream of income, rather than nothing at all.

She told RSVP magazine: “Ro’s album was supposed to be out at the start of the year and then he was going to tour all through the summer but all his gigs were cancelled and his album was pushed back.

“When you release a single or drop an album there is no huge financial advantage in that, you make your money touring, so Ronan is in the same boat as everyone else.

“While restrictions are beginning to ease now, there are no concerts or tours and we are waiting on tenterhooks for the British Government to make an announcement saying things can go back to business.

“Overall, it has been devastating on the music industry, and not just the performers but everyone involved.

“Ro is really grateful and lucky that he does have Magic Radio so he has the one constant income stream coming in which is better than nothing at all.

“There are so many artists who haven’t diversified and don’t have radio or TV opportunities, therefore things are stalled at the minute.

“But my heart goes out to everyone as so many people in all industries and walks of life have been affected.

“I can’t even imagine how stressful and scary it can be when the money you had coming in each month has dried up.”

The Australian beauty added: “He is such a worrier, but we balance each other when it comes to worry.”

Former TV producer Storm, who has had her own hands full during lockdown juggling a newborn, her three-and-a-half year old son Cooper and building their new home, admitted it was a silver lining having hubbie Ronan at home more to help.

She added: “I really don’t know how I would have gotten through the last three or four months without him to be honest.

“He should have been on tour and in different countries. It was a lot more hands on then just having Cooper so it was great both of us were here.”
