Storm Gonzalo expected to become hurricane on Thursday: NHC

Tropical storm Gonzalo could strengthen into a hurricane on Thursday over the Atlantic, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Wednesday night.

Gonzalo was located about 1,045 miles (1,685 km) east of the southern Windward Islands with maximum sustained winds of 60 miles (95 km) per hour, the NHC said.
