Storm Franklin brings down tree in Mapperley Plains as strong winds hit Nottinghamshire

Police are at the scene after Storm Franklin brought down tree at a busy junction in Mapperley.

One lane is blocked at the junction of Mapperley Plains and Gedling Road.

Officers were blocking off part of the road at 5:20pm on Sunday, February 20.

Nottinghamshire is being battered by strong winds hit Nottinghamshire.

A yellow warning for wind is in place until 1pm on Monday, February 21.

Flood alerts have been issued for the River Trent and Maun in Nottinghamshire, as well as Derwent and Erewash in Derbyshire.

Queens Park and Ride will be closed on Monday, February 21 as flooding is expected there overnight.

It comes after Storm Dudley and Storm Eunice caused disruption across Nottinghamshire and the rest of the country this week.
