Storm Dennis set to bring more weather misery to Ayrshire this weekend as Met Office issue new warning

A second weather front is set to slam into Ayrshire this weekend as forecasters put the county on alert.

No sooner has Ciara left our shores than Storm Dennis will announce his arrival.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the weekend, with strong winds and rain set to bring disruption.

Saturday and Sunday are set to be wild days with gusts up to 60mph bringing widespread disruption.

Forecasters say heavy rainfall will make conditions especially difficult on Saturday with up to 40mm falling on higher ground.

And coupled with snow melting, this may lead to some local flooding.

Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely, with flooding also predicted.

It comes on the back of a week of miserable weather, which has seen Storm Ciara cause widespread disruption across Ayrshire and the UK.
